There is some evidence that carseats deprive children of oxygen. Also when not on their bases they are generally not at the right angle for their back, and my baby overheated the two times I left him in his once we were in the house... even when it was relatively cool.
If your baby prefers to sleep in a semi reclined position either 1 elevate the crib by placing stable objects under the crib legs, like books (never under the mattress) or try this bed it is awesome: http://www.ambybaby.com/ Also even a swing or bouncy chair would be better than a carseat. Car seats are designed first to be safe during a crash and second for infant comfort. Swing and bouncers only have to worry about comfort (well and safety from them falling out etc)http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/fi…http://www.bloggingbaby.com/2006/12/08/d…

It's okay if she is sleeping in her car seat at different times but I would recommend letting her get used to sleeping in her cradle. Otherwise she is going to grow accustomed to sleeping in the car seat and you may encounter problems when she needs to start sleeping in her cradle/crib.
We have 3 kids and with the youngest she slept in her car seat a lot since we were on the go with school and activities with the other girls but we made sure that when we were at home she was sleeping in her crib.
Good Luck :) Hope this was helpful...

It is OK but not the best habit to get her in. When my son was 8 weeks old he started to develop asthma. Since he had trouble breathing and a stuffy nose his pediatrician told me to let him sleep in the seat for a few days to keep him in an upright position. So it is OK but her cradle is best. If you do let her sleep in there be sure to buck her in even at 2 months old. They can arch their back and slide out.

It's perfectly safe. For the first few months of my daughter's life we had a horrible time trying to get her to sleep in her bassinet. She would only sleep in a car seat or bouncy seat. At first we kept trying to move her, but after a while we were just so tired we let her sleep wherever she was comfortable. The one thing I would suggest is a positioner to put on her neck to prevent her head from flopping to the side. She didn't seem to mind the neck thing, and I just didn't like the way her head was tilted without it.

Our pediatrician says no because it causes their diaphram to be in a poor position for digestion. It encourages reflux symptoms even in babies without a tendency toward reflux because it pushes everything upwards. I'm not sure if this is true when they are older and are less "slouchy" due to muscle development or not.

It doesn't hurt, but it sounds like she is used to sleeping in it and may not get used to the cradle. I would suggest that you start putting her in the cradle when she is awake and let her fall asleep on her own. You don't want her to rely on a certain routine for falling asleep because she needs to be able to fall asleep on her own.

I have four children and all of them at many points in their baby lives loved to sleep in the car seat. They always never go back to it after about 9 months and then they feel more comfortable sleeping laying down in a crib. I felt safer when they were asleep in the car seat because they were able to stay asleep more and when they were newborn when they couldn't move their head at all, it is a better way to keep the head straight with a neck supporter for babies for the car seat which you can find at Wal-mart
