I was 17 when I had my daughter who was 7lb 14oz, 51cms long with a 35cm head circumference (her head didn’t cone as its meant to) I went drug free as I wanted her to be born to a mother who was fully there and not doped up. I didn’t even take panadol or any other pain killers when I was pregnant I don’t think it is right….my opinion.
I used hot packs, breathing techs and hot showers to ease my pain, I also tore very very badly so it was a lot of pain. I plan to have my second baby (currently almost 15wks) with no pain meds too

Yes, and I’ll never do it again. It wasn’t by choice, my epidural became blocked 4 times, and they could not get it fixed, so I was on my own. You just find what ever helps you, breathing, screaming, focusing on an object. You will find something,usually during the process, trust me.

god bless whoever does and did… your very strong … im due dec 20 th and im 33 almost 34 weeks and im scared to death of needles and everything.. i thought about it but i went into preterm labor at 31 weeks and it hurt like hell so i might give in to the meds

it hurts SO bad
i had the epi
but i could only imagine
plus i ripped bad.
i don’t see how women do it all natural…

I did with my 3rd child, and it was pain -full.
I was taking La maze classes, and was breathing slowly and deeply during longer pain.
I was imagining blue sky and nice worm water, and that helped me a lot.
You need to be relaxed, and you will be fine.
Through history women had their babies naturally. Good luck yo you!

My mom had me and my little sister natural. She told me that i needed to get an epidural cause without it, i’ll be in a LOT of pain. She said it hurt like heck but it’s what she wanted. I’m not good with pain so i’ll prolly end up taking the epidural.

i got one dose of demerol with my first child. it did nothing but make me sick. my second was completely natural. i didn’t even have an iv. just try to relax as much as possible. the more relaxed you are, the quicker your body does the job it’s supposed to do. back rubs are VERY helpful, as are heating pads. if you are in a hospital or birthing center that allows it, take showers or sit in a warm tub. breath through the contractions. i banned my ex from saying “it’s going to be alright” or “i know it hurts honey”. i’m not going to lie…it does hurt. after you have the baby and you get to hold him/her, you’ll forget the pain.

Closest I got to natural was 2 births with only gas and air for pain relief, not that it relieves pain it just takes the edge off! I took it one contraction at a time, thought see how this one goes and if its too much I was going to ask for something stronger. By the time it was a bit much I was pushing so wasnt really able to have anything else anyway.

I’ve had all four of mine natural (8lbs 10oz., 10lbs 10oz., 6lbs 11oz., and 5lbs 12oz.). I won’t lie, it hurts like heck. I just focused on getting the baby, breathed, and squeezed either my cousin, mom, or husband’s hand (it helps a lot to have something to hold onto to squeeze through contractions). Epidurals do carry risk, google epidural risks and you’ll find them. My mom’s friends daughter got paralyzed by one so I was too scared to even try. If you do end up needing something, ask for some pain meds through your IV. As soon as that baby is out, you forget all about the pain, I promise. Good luck and congratulations!
